Don't miss the Our /Kids national announcement and roll out of What If I Told You?
What if I told you 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys will experience child sexual abuse by age 18?
It’s true, and the only way to help those suffering from child sexual abuse is to talk about it.
Our goal is simple: reach as many people as possible with information and resources about child sexual abuse.
We want survivors of child sexual abuse to know it happens but it does not define. Believe the child. Embrace the adult. They are courageous
The Our Kids mission is to provide expert medical evaluations and crisis counseling services in response to concerns of child sexual abuse, and to increase community awareness, conduct research and offer education and training about child sexual abuse. Our Kids clinical staff are on call for emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Child sexual abuse is sexual contact or activity with a child when consent is not or cannot be given. It can range from obscene phone calls to having a child see sexual activity to touching a child’s private parts to sexual intercourse.
The Need is Real
National statistics reveal that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys will experience some form of sexual abuse by age 18, and many cases will never be reported. Most children are sexually abused by someone they know and trust. 50 percent of the more than 900 children examined by Our Kids annually are seven years of age and younger.
If you have concerns about the safety or well-being of a child, you must call 1-877-237-0004 to report your concerns.
